Your journey

From first call to finished smile, step by step.

No mystery, no obligation, no surprises. Here's exactly what happens when you contact Mouth Rehab Centre, from your first conversation with a Patient Support Coordinator to the consultation where your partner dentist takes over your care.

The process

Three clear steps, at your pace

Every journey through our network follows the same three steps. You set the pace, you can pause at any point, and nothing proceeds without your informed go-ahead.

Obligation-Free Phone Consult

It starts with a conversation, not a chair. A Patient Support Coordinator calls at a time that suits you to understand your situation: your dental history, what's troubling you, what you'd like to change and what's held you back until now.

Coordinators don't give medical advice, so they won't diagnose anything or recommend treatment. Their job is to listen, answer practical questions about how it all works, and connect you with an AHPRA-registered partner dentist suited to your needs and location. If you'd rather go away and think, that's completely fine. There's no follow-up pressure.

Consultation & Exam

Your free Dental Access Package begins here: a comprehensive face-to-face consultation with your partner dentist, including a 3D CBCT scan where clinically appropriate. This is where the guesswork ends: your dentist can assess what’s happening above and below the gum line before recommending anything.

You leave with a full custom-made written treatment plan with fixed pricing: a document you can take home, discuss with family and use to seek a second opinion if you wish. The package is valued at $430 and free for eligible new patients.

Treatment Begins

If, and only if, you decide to proceed, your dentist schedules treatment according to your written plan. Appointments are sequenced logically, with healing time built in wherever it's clinically required.

From this point your partner clinic manages your care directly: appointments, treatment and clinical follow-up are all handled by the team treating you. You're always welcome to email us, though anything clinical is best answered by your dentist.

Care led by your dentist

Dental Access Package

Knowing where you stand shouldn’t come with a bill.

That belief is why eligible new patients receive the Dental Access Package free: a $430 value, reflecting the standard fees for these services when purchased separately. It’s designed to give you complete clarity, clinically and financially, before you’re asked to decide anything, with time for every question along the way.

Attending your consultation creates no commitment whatsoever. No purchase is required, there’s no obligation to proceed, and your written plan is yours to keep. Take it home, sleep on it, and seek a second opinion if you’d like one.

One package per patient, available at participating partner clinics. Not redeemable for cash. Treatment costs aren’t included (they’re quoted in your written treatment plan), and the offer may be amended or withdrawn for new bookings at any time.

On the day

What a treatment day can look like

Using a full arch treatment day as an example, here's the general shape of the day. Timing and stages vary with each individual treatment plan. Yours will be confirmed in writing before anything is booked.

Arrival & final checks

You're welcomed by the clinical team, your plan is reviewed together and your consent is reconfirmed. Any final records or checks are completed, and the anaesthetic approach, discussed and agreed well in advance, is confirmed before anything begins.

Nothing starts without your go-ahead

The procedure

Your dentist carries out the treatment set out in your written plan. For a full arch case, that means placing the implants that will support your new teeth. Anaesthetic and comfort options are arranged ahead of time, and the length of the procedure depends on your individual plan.

Anaesthetic agreed in advance

Recovery & provisional teeth

You rest under supervision before heading home with clear written aftercare instructions. Some patients are fitted with provisional teeth the same day, but only where clinically appropriate. Final restorations follow an adequate healing period determined by your treating clinician.

Healing period applies

A general guide only. The sequence, timing and anaesthetic approach for your treatment are confirmed by your treating clinician in your written plan. Many treatments, such as single implants, crowns or veneers, are completed across several shorter visits rather than a single treatment day.

Aftercare

Healing & aftercare

Healing takes time, and it deserves the same care as the treatment itself. Your clinician provides written aftercare instructions tailored to your procedure, and these general principles apply to most restorative and implant treatment:

  • Eat soft foods initially: your clinician will advise when to reintroduce firmer foods as healing progresses.
  • Keep up gentle oral hygiene as instructed, taking particular care around any surgical sites.
  • Attend every review appointment so healing can be monitored and small adjustments made early.
  • Avoid smoking, which can impair healing and affect the outcome of treatment.
  • Follow your clinician's written instructions: they're specific to you and take precedence over general guidance like this.

Important: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Some swelling or discomfort in the first few days after surgical treatment is common and can usually be managed with medication. Contact your treating clinic promptly if you're concerned at any stage.

Come prepared

Good questions to ask at your consultation

A good consultation should leave you with answers, not doubts. We encourage you to ask your partner dentist anything at all. These four are a strong start.

“How experienced are you with this procedure?”

Ask how often your dentist performs the treatment being proposed, and what their training in it involved. Experienced clinicians expect this question and answer it plainly.

“What are my alternatives, including doing nothing?”

Every option has trade-offs. A thorough consultation should cover simpler or more conservative alternatives, what each involves, and what's likely if you choose not to treat at all.

“What will it cost, item by item?”

Your written treatment plan includes itemised costs. Check exactly what's included and what isn't (imaging, provisional teeth, review visits) so the final figure holds no surprises.

“What happens if something needs adjusting later?”

Restorations can need adjustment, maintenance or repair over time. Ask how reviews are scheduled, what ongoing care involves, and who to contact if something doesn't feel right after treatment.

Tip: bring your questions written down, and take the answers home. Your written treatment plan gives you time to reflect before deciding anything.
